My Story

Here’s a little background information about my studio. These colourful, simple watercolour and ink illustrations are inspired by my love of African animals and craftmaking, and the natural beauty of my Cape Town surroundings.

I  love putting colour onto paper and I’m constantly doodling just for fun. The name of the shop comes from my grandparents’ dogs when I was growing up. Pudding, the fat one, and Pickles.

Keeping it local

Each original illustration is scanned and printed with the Giclee method on high-quality art paper, at a printing shop just down the road. Each print is beautifully framed by The Framing Rabbit. Their frames are made from recycled materials, and are fully recyclable. Choose from oak-look or white gallery frames. I check each print carefully for quality before it’s wrapped, tied with a bow and sent out into the world.

My original designs are digitally printed only cotton and linen at Whimsical Press, who ensure beautiful colour-fast printing on high quality fabrics.

If your purchase is a gift, I include gift-wrapping and a greeting card with each purchase.

I understand that the essentials of life come first, but I like to believe that when you have a bit of extra money in your pocket it’s worth buying a local product that will last for (almost) ever and make you smile every day.
